The Vintage PantryThe sad part is that these are one-of-a-kind memories. When they’re sold, we’ll do our best to locate another just as precious. If you’re looking for something special, contact us. We’ll do the legwork for you. All vintage pantry items are sold as is. Please Note: Because these are one-of-a-kind items, until our website is updated, an item may have been purchased but still appear to be available. We will do our best to inform you if such a situation has occurred. |
Complete with lid, its fresh light green glaze recalls memories of early Spring in the Midwest when Irene made her first batch of yellow mustard potato salad, Miracle Whip, of course, then lovingly spooning all into this vessel. Sporting but two factory imperfections, the first, an underglaze sand bump on the top of the lid, and the second, a pinpoint-sized burst glaze bubble on the inside of the base. Badges of Homer Laughlin honor, we feel. Approximately 4” high to the top of the lid, and 7 ¾” across its breadth, can we rely on you to extend your love to this beautiful memory? | Enough of that!!! A 12” diameter standing half as tall. Of course, only one available for adoption!
A 10” wide x 12” deep x 14” tall vintage tin container with an inclined, hinged lid designed for efficient removal of its contents. Still sporting hints of its original muted graphics, this curiosity was undoubtedly a promotional product left by a traveling salesman, advertising his ware, Gunpowder Tea. FYI: A form of Chinese green tea, Gunpowder Tea was produced in Zhejiang Province of China, where each tea leaf was rolled into a small round pellet, resembling gunpowder pellets used for cannons. We see this one-of-a-kind beauty gracing your pantry shelf, holding those unsightly potato chip bags or individually wrapped after-school snacks. We, at The City Pantry, feel that the success of our future is, in large part, dependent upon our past. Be its caretaker… | We love its elegant simplicity, yet appreciate the necessity of its “heft”. These were WORKHORSES; used daily, washed by hand, then loaded up early next morning to tantalize the neighborhood once again. Their only day off was Sunday. I know, I talk as if they are human, but the way I see it, if they COULD talk, they’d have lots to share with their caretaker. We have but one to offer for sale at this time, vintage, and in pristine condition. Measuring 7 ½” in height x 9” in diameter, just right for petit fours, scones, or cheesecake bites. Consider giving something nostalgic for your next gift-giving occasion…you might start a tradition. Cheesecake not included, but you already knew that, didn't you? PLEASE NOTE: These cake plates varied slightly in the design of their stem and base, making each one unique. The cake plate pictured may vary slightly from the one you purchase. Contact us if you have any questions. NO FREE SHIPPING WITH THIS ITEM!
