Below, we are featuring Tunisian Artisanal Olive Wood products. Crafted at the source in Tunisia, Africa, this is old wood from non-productive trees, and is one of the finest, rarest, and most beautiful olive wood available. A distinctive red pigment in its grain gives the wood a charming honey hue which darkens over time. Bottom line: older trees, darker olive wood. We love its smooth texture, as well as the rough natural edge of the limb left behind by the individual craftsman. Combine this with their promise that NO YOUNG TREE IS EVER DAMAGED OR DESTROYED IN THEIR CRAFTING PROCESS, well, we just like the "whole enchilada".

We take great care to emphasize that these products are UNIQUE, "one-of-a-kind" treasures!

These cutting boards are Italian-style boards, with no drip edge; just more beautiful wood... The mortars and pestles are UNIQUE and equally MAGNIFICENT!

PLEASE NOTE: Our mortar and pestle is a decorative, yet highly efficient tool for grinding peppercorns and other whole spices; a "must-have" for any Urban Space, or a lovely gift for that "Urban Gourmet"! Handcrafted from a single piece of olive wood, each piece will vary slightly from the product image.

Each individual cutting board pictured below is the ACTUAL board available for purchase. Irregularly shaped, measurements are made at the longest and widest points of the board. Due to its "natural" condition, some surface unevenness may occur resulting in a slight "rocking motion" when set on a flat surface. Whenever possible, we will even out the surface with the addition of clear plastic “feet” adhered to the underside of the cutting board.

Olive Wood has a very high natural oil content, meaning it effectively WATERPROOFS itself. No foods or liquids will penetrate the surface. In addition, olive wood is IDEAL for use with food as its natural oil content means that it kills bacteria, and therefore more hygienic than other wood or plastic products

Care: HAND WASH ONLY! Occasionally coat with olive oil.
